The journey of showing up and fulfilling our ultimate purpose in life, of claiming our truth and power, of radical self-acceptance — this path you’ve been resisting because it’s not “marketable,” “profitable,” (according to who?) — it is messy like a heavy flow period. Yup.
When you resist the mess, when you think okay I have everything I need, I am fully prepared, I have my diva cup, my pads, my absorbent, period underwear, my midol, my heating pad, — whatever it is you use if you’re a person who has periods — And you think “I’m ready to go! Nothing can get in the way of a mess-free, pain-free period for me now!”
But then your period comes again, your feelings are naturally a little all over the place, your face might be breaking out, you have multiple interruptions throughout the day to tend to your body’s natural system flushing out, maybe you have scattered energy, maybe you have insomnia and you can’t sleep, but you’re exhausted — It’s. A. Mess. Or at least it can feel like…
