I asked, “What Are You Most Sick and Tired Of Right Now?” And Someone Responded: “YT Women Not Acknowledging Black Deaths in 2020.”
I recorded a video today about how we white women contribute to Black deaths like Ahmaud Arbery who was a 25-year-old young man who was just out for a jog two months ago when two white men, one who was a retired cop, hunted him down in their truck with their shotguns and shot Ahmaud twice simply because he was out for a run. I also want to acknowledge that Nina Pop, a 28-year-old Black trans woman was murdered in her home last week in Sikeston, Missouri.
This video is in honor of these two people who should have never died.

Us white women may not be committing these modern-day lynchings but our behavior supports and condones it by the way we ourselves police Black bodies, whether that’s by being fatphobic when it comes to celebrities like Lizzo, the way we culturally appropriate by stealing Black dances from Black creators on Tik Tok, the way we excuse our family’s racism, the way we celebrate the 4th of July, the way we don’t read…
